Surah Kahf 6-10

Arabic:
أَمْ حَسِبْتَ أَنَّ أَصْحَابَ الْكَهْفِ وَالرَّقِيمِ كَانُوا مِنْ آيَاتِنَا عَجَبًا

Transliteration:
Am ḥasibta anna aṣḥābal-kahfi war-raqīmi kānū min āyātinā ‘ajabā.

Meaning:

Or have you thought that the companions of the cave and the inscription were, among Our signs, a wonder?

Lesson:

Finally, we hear their voices. This is the core of the lesson, the distilled essence of the believer’s strategy when the world becomes unbearable:

"When the youths retreated to the cave and said, 'Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance.'" surah kahf 6-10

The Arabic word Fa-waw implies they disconnected, they pulled away. The "retreat" was not cowardice; it was a strategic spiritual withdrawal. They realized that remaining in a society that demanded their moral compromise was a danger they could not navigate alone.
