Before trying to enter Fastboot mode, ensure the following:
Cause: Honor has locked down Fastboot access on newer devices. Fix: This is the most common issue on the Pad X9. Your only reliable solution is Method 2 (ADB reboot bootloader). Hardware key combos may not work.
Honor no longer provides official bootloader unlock codes. Without an unlocked bootloader, Fastboot mode is nearly useless for most advanced commands (flashing, rooting). You can still enter Fastboot, but fastboot flashing unlock will likely fail. Proceed only if you know the limitations.
Ensure you have the following ready:
A compatible USB cable – preferably the original Honor cable. Poor quality cables often fail to pass Fastboot commands.
Honor USB drivers (Windows only) – install the latest HiSuite or Google USB drivers.
