Cs 1.6 Silent Aim -
In CS 1.6 (GoldSrc engine), the client sends usercmd packets to the server containing your view angles and shot commands. A silent aim hack:
Result: you see normal aiming, but the server sees perfect aim.
Cheaters often categorize hacks into "Rage" (blatant, used to ruin the game) and "Legit" (used to win without getting caught). Silent Aim was the ultimate "Legit" tool. It allowed bad players to dominate skilled players without the social stigma of being an obvious hacker. They could miss shots intentionally to lower their accuracy percentage, then toggle the cheat on for crucial rounds. cs 1.6 silent aim
A Silent Aimer will often shoot dead bodies for 0.5 seconds after they die. Because the cheat is still calculating angles on the dead hitbox, their gun will "lock" onto the corpse for a frame or two.
Between 2013 and 2016, Valve silently (pun intended) updated VAC to leverage Client-Side Diffing. In CS 1
The old VAC looked for cheat files. The new VAC looked for angle discrepancies.
