Automobilista 1 Mods
Many mods are built for rFactor 1. To make them work perfectly in AMS1, they need a few adjustments.
Status: Mature/Complete. Best For: Historic racing, Formula 1 classics, and endurance racing. Physics Engine: Madness Engine (same as Project CARS 1/2, but highly refined by Reiza). Even with perfect installation, mods break. Here is your diagnostic checklist. Many mods are built for rFactor 1

| Game crashes on startup | Duplicate .rfm files or corrupted Series folder. | Delete the UserData\LOG folder and restart. Remove the last installed mod via JSGME. |
| Car loads but has no sound | Missing SoundConfig.ini or wrong sound bank. | Copy the Sounds folder from a default AMS1 car into the mod car’s folder. |
| Invisible car on track | The car uses a custom shape file (.gen) that AMS1 doesn’t recognize. | Open .veh file and change GenString to GenString=AMS1_Default. |
| AI cars spin on lap 1 | Talent files (.ini) have unrealistic aggression values. | Open the talent file in UserData\Player\Talent and lower Cornering to 0.95. |
| Track loads but no grip | The track uses rF1’s old .tdf (terrain definition) format. | No fix, unfortunately. Find an AMS-native version of the track. | Even with perfect installation, mods break
