Xcom 2 Long War Guide 【PREMIUM】
XCOM 2 Long War (LW2) is a total-conversion-style overhaul that expands tactics, strategy, soldier progression, and campaign length, demanding deeper resource management and long-term planning than vanilla XCOM 2. This guide covers core strategic principles, base and research priorities, squad composition and soldier progression, mission tactics, supply and economy, dealing with exhaustion and fatigue, late-game goals, and common pitfalls to avoid.
Every haven has hidden Faceless (enemy infiltrators). They steal supplies and sabotage you. The only way to find them is to assign a Soldier as a Haven Advisor. A high-rank soldier (Sergeant+) has a higher chance to reveal Faceless each month.
Strategy: Rotate a low-ranking soldier into a new haven as an advisor for 2-3 weeks. If no Faceless are found, move them. This is tedious but critical. Losing 50% of your monthly supplies to a Faceless is a campaign-ender.
This is the biggest new mechanic. You have resistance havens in every region. You must assign rebels to jobs:
Pro Tip: Use your Adviser (an officer soldier) to boost a specific job. Early on, focus heavily on Intel to unlock neighboring regions quickly. Without intel, you are flying blind. xcom 2 long war guide
