Tip for GOG version: Perk progress saves correctly due to hotfix (no reset bug). Run unins000

The Steam version requires the Steam client to be running, even in offline mode. The GOG version does not. You can install this version on a laptop, an external hard drive, or a retro gaming PC, and launch WolfNewOrder_x64.exe directly. No internet connection. No client authentication. It is yours forever.

To the uninitiated, that string of numbers and letters might look like gibberish. To the informed PC gamer, it is a mark of quality. Not officially supported, but you can manually copy

  • Hotfix: This indicates a minor, rapid-update patch released shortly after a major update to address urgent problems. In this case, the hotfix specifically targeted a memory leak that occurred when toggling between the "id Tech 5" engine's texture streaming settings. It also resolved a rare save-corruption issue in Chapter 14.
  • GOG: This is the most important suffix. GOG (Good Old Games) is a digital distribution platform owned by CD Projekt. Unlike Steam or Epic Games Store, GOG is famous for two things: DRM-Free distribution and preservation.
