Many silver-face rack units from the 1990s use a 6- or 7-digit purely numerical serial number (e.g., 746205).

Step 1: Locate the serial number (usually on a silver sticker on the backplate or inside the battery box). Step 2: Count the characters. - If 6-7 digits (no letters) → Vintage Danish unit. Use the "Hex Table" above to approximate the era. - If 14+ digits with letters → Modern Music Tribe unit. Proceed to Step 3. Step 3: Identify the Factory Code letter (A, B, or C). Step 4: Extract the 4 digits following the letter. Assume the first two are the year, the second two are the week. Step 5: Compare to the expected release date of that pedal. - Example: You have a PolyTune 3 (released 2017). Your serial suggests it was made in 2012. Red flag. You likely misread the order (it is probably Week 20 of 2018). That number is not a serial number and
