Nasir al-Din Abu Sa'id Abdullah ibn Umar al-Baydawi (d. 1286 CE) was a Shafi’i jurist, theologian, and exegete. His magnum opus, formally titled Anwar al-Tanzil wa Asrar al-Ta'wil (The Lights of Revelation and the Secrets of Interpretation), is widely considered the pinnacle of the Sunni tafsir tradition.
Al-Baydawi’s work is essentially a concise abridgment of the famous Tafsir al-Kashshaf by al-Zamakhshari.
