Let’s walk through creating a simple 555 Timer LED flasher board.

Step 2: Placing Components Press Insert or click the "Load Macro" button. Browse your library for a NE555 (DIL-8). Click to place it on the grid. Place a few resistors (R1, R2) and an LED. Use the spacebar to rotate components.

Step 3: Routing Traces (Bottom Layer) Select the "Layer 2 (Bottom copper)" tab. It is usually red. Select the "Track" tool. Click on Pin 1 of the IC, then click on the pad of the resistor. Sprint Layout automatically draws the copper trace. Right-click to stop routing.

Step 5: Adding Text and Silkscreen Switch to "Layer 21 (Silkscreen top)." Select the Text tool. Type "LED 555" or your name. This will be printed in white ink on the final board.

Step 6: The 3D View Press the "3D" button on the toolbar. Sprint Layout 7.0 generates a real-time 3D rendering of your board, including component heights (if you entered them). This is a critical step to ensure tall capacitors do not hit the enclosure lid.
