Sims 4 Yakuza Mod
Problem: "Extreme Violence" interactions vanish when Basemental is installed. Fix: Load the Yakuza mods after Basemental. Use TwistedMexi’s BetterExceptions to scan for conflicts.
Problem: The "Yakuza Career" doesn't show up in the phone menu. Fix: You must first complete the "Prison Time" aspiration (available via Slice of Life mod) or be an Adult Sim. Teens cannot join.
Problem: Sims without tattoos are being accepted into the family. Fix: Download Lot51’s Core Library and install the "Tattoo Verification" script. This adds a social interaction: "Roll Up Sleeves." If the Sim has no ink, the "Reject" interaction becomes available. Sims 4 Yakuza Mod
Maybe the script mods crash your game, or you want a lighter touch. Here are alternatives that achieve the feeling of the Yakuza mod without the violence:
You start with Kenji Tanaka, a young Sim with the "Self-Assured" and "Ambitious" traits. He lives in a run-down apartment in the Fashion District of San Myshuno (reskinned as Kabukicho). Promotion Tasks:
Vanilla Sims 4 has a "Criminal" career with two branches: Boss and Oracle. A Yakuza mod replaces these text blurbs. Instead of "Hack mainframe," your Sim will "Collect protection fees." Instead of "Frame rival gang," your Sim will "Attend Oyabun summit." Promotions aren't about logic skill; they are about Fitness, Charisma, and the number of Sims you have brutally defeated.
Before you download, you need to be aware of two things: Active Missions (Go to Work):
1. Cultural Sensitivity: Portraying the Yakuza (a real, violent organized crime group with strict cultural codes) in a game where you can also "Try for Baby" in a hot tub can feel reductive to some. Japanese players have mixed feelings about romanticizing yakuza culture, especially the sokaiya (corporate blackmailers). Play respectfully in your private save, but be aware this is a sensitive topic.
2. Mod Piracy & Paywalls: Sega is notoriously protective of the Yakuza/Like a Dragon IP. You will rarely find a mod that directly uses Kiryu's face or the "Dragon of Dojima" tattoo because those get DMCA strikes quickly. Most reputable Sims 4 Yakuza Mod creators use original art. Never pay for a mod that reuses Sega’s assets. Also, EA’s ToS prohibits selling mods, so if a creator demands $15 for the "Yakuza Pack," they are likely a scammer.
While buying ramen, a Sim with the "Kansai Yakuza" bandana (a custom accessory) walks past. Using the Gang Territories feature in Extreme Violence, Kenji clicks "Disrespect Territory." A brawl ensues. Kenji uses the "Kick While Down" interaction. He now has the "Bloodthirsty" moodlet for 4 hours.
Given the complexity (script mods conflict easily), follow this guide:
Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods. Keep script files no more than one folder deep.
