Sahadeva Arooda Chakra 【INSTANT】

Astrology students often confuse these two. Here is the critical distinction:

| Feature | Jaimini Arooda Pada (AL) | Sahadeva Arooda Chakra | | :--- | :--- | :--- | | Focus | Perception (Maya/Image) | Tangible Assets (Cattle/Gold/Land) | | Calculation Base | Lagna & Arudha Pada formula | 10th Lord, 7th Lord & Lunar interplay | | Planets Involved | Any planet in AL | Heavily dependent on Saturn & Moon | | Timing of Event | Immediate social recognition | Slow, sustained growth (karmic harvest) | | Sign Used | Can fall in 12th house (loss of fame) | Rarely falls in 12th; usually 4/5/9/10/11 | | Classic Text | Jaimini Sutras (Ch. 4) | Sahadeva Samhita (Ch. 12) |

Rule of Thumb: If you want to know if someone is perceived as rich, check AL. If you want to know if they actually own 500 acres of land and 200 buffaloes—check Sahadeva Arooda.

From ( P_L ), move forward ( \Delta ) signs to reach the pratibimba (reflection) sign ( A_base ): [ A_base = P_L + \Delta \quad (\textmod 12 signs) ] sahadeva arooda chakra

Once the Sahadeva Arooda is computed for a house, its meaning follows similar principles to Parashari Arudha but with added depth:

Special attention is given when the Sahadeva Arooda falls into the 6th, 8th, or 12th houses — these indicate vriddha (obstructed) or bhrashta (fallen) Arudha, where the projection is distorted or hidden.

While powerful, the Sahadeva Arooda Chakra is not a replacement for a full horoscope (Janam Kundli). It is a situational oracle. Traditional texts warn that it must be used with a clean heart and clear intent — otherwise, results become erratic. Sahadeva himself was known for his humility and silence; the chakra honors that spirit. Astrology students often confuse these two

Unlike the Parashari method, Sahadeva then applies the following corrections based on the lord’s dignity:

Native:

Parashari Arudha Lagna: Aries → Cancer (3 signs) → Cancer + 3 = Libra.
Sahadeva Arooda Lagna: From ( P_L ), move forward ( \Delta

Interpretation: The native projects a mysterious, confrontational persona (Scorpio) rather than the actual assertive but emotionally sensitive (Aries with debilitated Mars) self.

The Sahadeva Arooda Chakra is most effective for:

Before understanding the "Chakra," one must understand the author. According to Mahabharata, Sahadeva was the son of Madri and the twin of Nakula. He was blessed with the knowledge of Golok (celestial mechanics) and Kaya Chikitsa (Ayurveda). More importantly, he was a master of Dharmashastra and Nimitta (omens and time cycles).

The text Sahadeva Samhita (or Sahadeva’s Compendium of Astrology) is a foundational work on horary and mundane astrology. The Sahadeva Arooda Chakra is a derivative of this text. Unlike Parashara’s Arooda, which uses a fixed algorithm (Multiply Lagna by 3, etc.), Sahadeva’s method is more closely tied to the Bhavas (houses) and their Samudrika (physical/earthly) manifestations.
