There have been proof-of-concept ransomware PKGs that encrypt the user’s game saves and demand payment. Even more common are PKGs that install spyware to steal PSN credentials or network tokens.

Finally, you get a working PKG, but it needs a backport because you’re on FW 9.00 and the game requires 11.00. You spend another hour finding a backport patch. After installing via debug settings, the game runs fine offline.
