Once installed, here is the professional retouching workflow:
Step 1: Prepare your image. Remove major stray hairs and dust spots using the Spot Healing Brush (CS5’s tool is excellent for this).
Step 2: Run the plugin.
Go to Filter > Imagenomic > Portraiture.
Step 3: The "Tuning" process.
Step 4: The CS5 "Fade" trick.
Because CS5 does not have Opacity sliders on Smart Filters (Smart Objects exist but are clunky in CS5), apply the plugin to a duplicate layer. Then use Edit > Fade Portraiture (or Ctrl+Shift+F) to reduce the intensity to 60-70%. portraiture plugin for photoshop cs5
Step 5: Manual masking. Add a black layer mask to the Portraiture layer. Paint with a white brush (low opacity: 30%) only over the cheeks and forehead. Never apply Portraiture to eyes, lips, or hair.
