Navya Ep 1 [WORKING]

INT. CAFE - NIGHT

The cafe is dimly lit, loud music thumping. It’s definitely not a study group. Navya walks in, looking overwhelmed. She spots Ritika at a table with a group of boys and girls, laughing loudly.

Navya approaches.

NAVYA
> Hi, Ritika.

Ritika looks up, surprised.

RITIKA
> Oh! You actually came. And you said you had a "study group" to your mom? (Laughs) You’re a rebel, Navya. I didn’t think you had it in you.

Navya forces a smile, sitting on the edge of a chair.

NAVYA
> Yeah. I guess.

Apurv walks up to the table, holding a fizzy drink. He sees Navya. navya ep 1

APURV
> Small Fry? You’re here?
NAVYA
> My name is Navya. And yes. Ritika invited me.

Apurv looks at Ritika with a knowing look. Ritika shrugs.

APURV
> Interesting. Well, welcome to the dark side. Drink?

He slides a glass toward her. Navya hesitates. She looks at the drink, then at her watch. It’s 8:15 PM.

NAVYA
> Just a cola.

She takes a sip. Suddenly, Ritika grabs Navya’s arm.

RITIKA
> Navya, hold my bag for a sec? I need to make a call outside. The reception is terrible in here.

Ritika dumps her expensive leather bag on Navya’s lap and rushes out before Navya can object.

Navya sits there, holding the bag, feeling out of place. Apurv sits opposite her. Navya walks in, looking overwhelmed

APURV
> You don’t fit in here, do you?
NAVYA
> (Defensive) > I fit in fine.
APURV
> You’re clutching that bag like it’s a life preserver. And you keep checking your watch. Cinderella syndrome?
NAVYA
> I have to be home by 9.
APURV
> (Smirks) > Good luck with that.

If you plan to re-watch the episode, look for these hidden details:

INT. MISHRA HOUSEHOLD - MORNING

The house is a chaotic symphony of morning prayers, clinking steel utensils, and loud instructions.

NAVYA (19, expressive eyes, wearing a simple salwar kameez) is trying to apply a swipe of lip gloss while balancing a tray of tea cups.

SUDHA (40s, Navya’s mother) enters, frantic. NAVYA > Hi, Ritika

SUDHA
> Navya! Papa is waiting for his socks. And tell your brother to stop using the milk for his protein shakes, the gas cylinder won’t last forever!
NAVYA
> (Applying the gloss quickly) > Ma, I’m literally leaving in five minutes. It’s Day 1!
SUDHA
> Day 1 of college, not day 1 of a fashion show. Wipe that sticky stuff off your lips. You look like you ate a pink lollipop.

Navya sighs, rubbing her lips with the back of her hand. She grabs her bag—a sturdy, unbranded tote—and rushes out.

NAVYA
> Bye Papa! Bye Bauji!

She dodges her grandfather, who is loudly reciting the morning news.

EXT. MUMBAI STREETS - CONTINUOUS

Navya steps out of the auto-rickshaw in front of "St. Xavier’s College." She stares up at the Gothic arches. She clutches her bag strap tight.

She looks around. Students are in ripped jeans, oversized hoodies, and expensive sneakers. She looks down at her own clothes—a neatly ironed pink kurta. She feels invisible.
