The demon Andhaka was born from a drop of sweat that fell from Shiva’s forehead when Parvati playfully covered his eyes. Blind at birth, Andhaka was given to the demon king Hiranyaksha. He grew powerful and decided he wanted to marry Parvati (his own mother, effectively).
