MicroSoft Windows DirectX Releases
If your query somehow relates to accessing Java-related content (like movies, videos, etc.) without censorship, the term "jav" could imply "Japanese adult video." However, discussing this requires a careful approach:
Unlike the Western preference for "happy endings" or "hero wins," Japanese stories often revel in bittersweet, transient beauty. In Your Name. (Kimi no Na wa), the lovers erase each other's memories. In Final Fantasy VII, the heroine dies permanently halfway through. This acceptance of impermanence—cherishing the cherry blossom as it falls, not just as it blooms—infuses the storytelling.
Recent years have seen a reckoning. The late founder of Johnny & Associates was officially found guilty by the company itself of decades of sexual abuse against young trainees. This forced a massive advertising boycott, a rebranding to "Smile-Up," and a national conversation about power dynamics. Similarly, the death of reality TV star Hana Kimura from cyberbullying on Terrace House forced the cancellation of the show and new laws against online insults.
These scandals are forcing a shift from the shūdanshugi (groupism) that protected abusers toward a more individualistic, accountable model.
J-Pop is less a genre and more an industrial process. Dominated by talent agencies like Johnny & Associates (for male idols) and AKB48’s producer Yasushi Akimoto (for female idols), the system is designed for longevity and parasocial attachment.
The Idol System: Unlike Western pop stars who prioritize artistic evolution, Japanese idols prioritize "growth" and "purity." Groups like Arashi (now retired) and Nogizaka46 sell millions of singles through a "handshake event" model—fans buy multiple copies of a CD to receive tickets to shake hands with their favorite member for a few seconds. This transforms music buying from a passive listening experience into an active relationship.
The Underground and Virtual: Beneath the glossy surface lies a vibrant underground scene (visual kei bands like The Gazette) and the surreal rise of Virtual YouTubers (VTubers). Hololive Productions generates hundreds of millions of dollars via avatars streamed by voice actresses, proving that in Japan, a digital personality can be as "real" as a flesh-and-blood celebrity.

DirectX 9.0c update note :
MicroSoft is
continually (rather than releasing a new version) implementing
updates into the DirectX 9.0c branch since 2005.
The Redistributables contain
latest code to accomodate new Operating Systems and (supposedly)
inputs from DirectX10 Development.
As these are already shipping e.g. with the latest Games, they
are considered safe for use. Technically, that makes it DirectX
9.0d in many respects.
Various reports indicate performance increases accross
Games/Benchmarks and provision of needed compatibility with
newest Games.
Officially,
Win98/Win98SE is not supported but this may not prevent anyone to
experiment (e.g. extract and manually implement updated .dll's).
Be warned though that this is entirely experimental and could
lead to erroneous Results...
WinME and Win2000 support shows in and out of the official System
Requirements for some of the latest Updates but so far
is working just fine.
Above
DirectX 9.0c Operating System requirements are likely not 100%
correct, as conflicting information exists from different sources
(e.g. Wikipedia).
If you see a Version correctly installing despite being listed
here as officially not supported (or vice versa), let me know...
Important
Notes -
The DirectX Versions above
are offered for archival and/or reference purposes.
(those come in handy when building dedicated retro/legacy PC's or
running Software that requires a certain DirectX Version)
DirectX can not
be uninstalled by normal means!
Since DirectX commits significant changes to the installed
Windows, it is recommended to Backup all Data before
installation.
Either create a Restore Point with your OS or use equivalent
Utility Software.
For a forced uninstallation of DirectX, the use of a 3rd party
Software like DirectX Buster is required.
Current Windows versions already ship/install with their own DirectX, thus installation of an older Version than already installed is not normally possible.
