The Janazah prayer is unique; it has no Ruku (bowing) or Sujud (prostration). It consists of 4 Takbirs (saying Allahu Akbar). Between these Takbirs, specific Duas are recited.

The Prophet ﷺ taught specific supplications. A comprehensive, commonly used du‘ā’ in the Shāfi‘ī tradition (after the 3rd takbīr) is: Before the prayer

Arabic:
Allāhumma ghfir liḥayyinā wa mayyitinā, wa shāhidinā wa ghā’ibinā, wa ṣaghīrinā wa kabīrinā, wa dhakarinā wa unthānā. Allāhumma man aḥyaytahu minnā fa aḥyihi ‘alal-Islām, wa man tawaffaytahu minnā fa tawaffahu ‘alal-īmān. Allāhumma lā taḥrimnā ajrahu wa lā taftinnā ba‘dah.

Meaning in English:
O Allah, forgive our living and our dead, those present and those absent, our young and our old, our males and our females. O Allah, whoever among us You keep alive, let him live upon Islam, and whoever You cause to die, let him die upon faith. O Allah, do not deprive us of his reward, and do not cause us to go astray after him.

For a deceased child, du‘ā’ requests: Allāhumma ij‘alhu faratan wa dhukhran liwālidayhi (Make him a preceding reward and a stored treasure for his parents).

Before the prayer, you must make a firm intention in your heart. You do not need to say it aloud.
