Icom designed the OPC-478 (serial/DB9) and OPC-478U (USB) to connect the radio’s mic jack to your PC.

When connecting the cable, power off the radio, plug the RJ45 into the microphone port, and then power on the radio. The radio automatically detects the programming voltage on pin 5.
