Katie systematically hunts down each of her tormentors. Using her knowledge of the city’s underground tunnels, a nail gun, a knife, and pure survival instinct, she exacts vengeance in ways that are both horrifying and, within the film’s logic, cathartic. The final scene, set in the very dungeon where she was held, delivers a brutal and ironic twist that ties back to the film’s title.
