Feature Name: Adaptive Combat Overlays
Overview: Current crosshair overlays are static; they remain the same size and color regardless of the weapon equipped or the player’s movement state. This feature introduces Smart Zones—context-aware overlay adjustments that dynamically change shape, size, and color based on in-game telemetry (weapon type, movement speed, and stamina) to provide real-time tactical feedback.
OBS and Streamlabs cannot display game crosshairs on recorded footage if the game uses exclusive fullscreen. Hudsight renders to Windows Desktop, meaning your crosshair will appear on stream even if your recording software misses it.
Unlike generic overlay tools that only offer circles and lines, Hudsight allows you to import custom PNG images. Want a tiny skull as your crosshair? A glowing runic circle? A simple neon dot? You can load any transparent PNG and Hudsight will render it over your screen.
Games like Apex Legends or Warzone have dynamic lighting. A white crosshair disappears against a snowy mountain, and a black crosshair vanishes in a dark corridor. Hudsight offers dynamic colors (including neon green, magenta, and outline modes) to ensure 100% contrast.
At its core, HudSight is a software overlay that allows users to render a custom crosshair in the center of their screen. Unlike the in-game settings, which often limit players to a few basic dots or cross shapes, HudSight offers a comprehensive editor. Users can adjust color, opacity, thickness, size, outline, and dynamic movement.
Crucially, HudSight renders this crosshair independently of the game engine. It operates as an overlay, much as Discord or Steam does when displaying their in-game interfaces. This technical distinction is vital because it allows the software to function in "borderless windowed" or "fullscreen windowed" modes, where traditional reticle customization mods might fail or be blocked by anti-cheat systems.
