How To Convert Zip — To Mcpack

Sometimes you rename .zip to .mcpack, double-click it, and Minecraft opens but says: “Failed to import pack. Invalid manifest.” Or the pack simply does nothing.

This usually happens when the pack is nested incorrectly. Here’s what I mean:

Wrong structure (causes 90% of failures):

    ├── manifest.json
    ├── textures/
    └── pack_icon.png

Minecraft expects the manifest to be at the root level of the archive. If a folder is inside, it fails.

Troubleshooting: If you don’t see .zip at the end of the file name, go to File Explorer → View tab → Check “File name extensions”.
