The developers have clearly taken the "-Crime-" subtitle to heart. The color palette has shifted from warm school-day hues to teal and orange noir lighting. Rain is a persistent weather effect in the v0.3 exclusive levels. The soundtrack abandons piano ballads for low-fidelity jazz basslines and the occasional sound of a police siren bleeding through the mix.

Standout moments include the "Garage Interrogation" scene, where the camera angle shifts to a Dutch tilt (a first for the series), and the sound design—specifically the click of a revolver hammer in the final teaser—is bone-chilling.
