Resetters work by writing to the printer’s EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory). If the tool is for the wrong model, if the USB connection disconnects mid-write, or if the code has a bug, you can corrupt the EEPROM. A corrupted EEPROM turns your printer into a paperweight—no amount of button-pressing will revive it.
