The DSS DS-MR24 is a compact, low-power radar sensor module operating in the 24GHz ISM band. Manufactured by DSS (Delft Sensors Systems or an affiliated OEM partner), this device is designed for high-resolution motion detection, micro-motion sensing, and presence tracking. Unlike traditional Passive Infrared (PIR) sensors, the DS-MR24 uses Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar technology, enabling it to detect not only large movement but also subtle motions like breathing or typing.
Setting up the DSS DS-MR24 requires patience but is manageable for a DIY enthusiast with low-voltage experience.
Step 1: Physical Mounting The unit is a standard 1.5U rack-mountable metal chassis. Ensure 2 inches of clearance on both sides for passive cooling. Do not stack other hot equipment directly on top. dss ds-mr24
