Hikvision does not host firmware on a public, easy-to-browse FTP server anymore. You must use official channels. Avoid random forums or file-sharing sites—malware disguised as firmware is rampant.

This report summarizes the firmware situation for the DS-7104NI-SN P (4‑channel NVR), including official firmware sources, recent firmware versions and release notes (security/bug fixes and features), known vulnerabilities, recommended update procedure, rollback and backup considerations, and best-practice configuration after update.

As of 2024–2025, the latest stable firmware for DS-7104NI-SN/P is usually:

| Region / Version | Firmware Version | Release Notes | |----------------|----------------|----------------| | Global (EN/ML) | V3.4.98 build 170926 or V3.4.106 build 180608 | Security fixes, ONVIF improvements | | China region | V3.4.100+ (may have different features) | Usually not recommended for international units |

Note: Hikvision has moved many older models like this to a “legacy” status, so newer builds beyond 2018 are rare.

Official sources (safe):

Last known stable versions:

| Hardware | Last good firmware | |----------|--------------------| | V1.0 | V3.4.106_180411 | | V2.0 | V3.4.106_180411 or V3.4.98 |

Do not use V3.4.112 or higher – those are for different NAND chips.

🔍 If you can’t find it via search: try 3.4.106 180411 or digicap.dav for DS-7104NI-SN/P.

Fix: New firmware often resets the platform access.

Golden Rule: If your current version is V3.4.92 or older and everything works, only update if you need a specific feature. If you are on V3.4.106 (2018), you are likely at the final stable build.
