If your emulator still throws an error, it usually means your neogeo.zip is outdated or incomplete. Different emulators require different BIOS revisions.
Once your Neogeo.Zip is working, you can access hidden menus. During the Neo Geo boot screen (the white "SNK" logo), press specific button combinations:

Pro Tip: If you want to see the "Blood" in Samurai Shodown II or Mortal Kombat, set your BIOS to MVS (Arcade) and Japan region. The USA home version often censors violence.

Many users download a neogeo.zip that is missing files. When you open a valid BIOS zip with WinRAR or 7-Zip, you should see a specific list of .bin files. A complete ROM set (for MAME 2003 or 2016) contains:
File Size: A proper neogeo.zip is usually between 80 KB and 300 KB. If you download a file that is 1 MB or 10 MB, it is either a hacked version or contains unrelated firmware. Never unzip neogeo
