Subsistence is a challenging sandbox survival game where players build bases, manage resources, and defend against hostile wildlife and AI hunters. While the game is designed for hardcore survival, console commands offer a way to adjust difficulty, recover from bugs, test builds, or simply tailor the experience to your preference. Because you cannot just press ~ to open a console, you have two main options:

Console commands in Subsistence are a tool for debugging and creative expression, rather than a core gameplay mechanic. To access them, you must explicitly enable Cheats in the settings menu. While they remove the challenge of survival, they offer a fantastic way to explore the beautiful landscape and test engineering projects without the constant threat of starvation or hunter raids.
