Cause: Separate scan driver required.
Fix: Re-run the full driver package and select "Custom Install." Ensure "Canon ScanGear" or "IJ Scan Utility" is checked. Do not rely on Windows Fax and Scan alone.

Fix:
Step 1: Run the downloaded pd68-win-f158-200-x64.exe (filename varies by version). Right-click and select Run as Administrator. Cause: Separate scan driver required
Step 2: Choose your language and accept the license agreement.
Step 3: Select USB Connection (or Wireless, if your model supports it). For most F158 200 users, USB is the default. Cause: Windows Update pushed a generic Microsoft driver
Step 4: The installer will extract files. When prompted, now connect the USB cable to your computer and turn on the printer.
Step 5: Windows will detect the hardware. The installer will automatically copy the Canon F158 200 printer driver files.
Step 6: Complete the setup. Print a test page via Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers > right-click Canon F158 200 > Printer Properties > Print Test Page.
For Ubuntu or Fedora users, the canon-f158-200-cups driver is available via the OpenPrinting database. Use the terminal: sudo apt install printer-driver-cups-filter.
