For 3600 series, autonomous mode is rare.
If you have an older w8 image (e.g., from 15.2(2)JA), you can:
ap: tar -xtract tftp://server/ap3g1-k9w8-tar.152-2.ja.tar flash:
ap: set boot flash:/ap3g1-k9w8-152.2.ja/ap3g1-k9w8-152.2.ja
ap: boot
Then configure like a standard router:
interface BVI1, ip address, dot11 ssid, etc. Ap3g1-k9w7-tar.152-2.jb.tar
But most 3600s ship as LAP only – no autonomous support after a certain hardware revision. For 3600 series, autonomous mode is rare
tar -tvf Ap3g1-k9w7-tar.152-2.jb.tar
